In december 1955, ten months after giving their child for adoption, Joanne Carole Schieble and Adbulfattah married.

In 1957, they together have a daughter, Mona. After their divorce in 1962, Jandali lost contact with his daughter.

Schieble remarries and Mona takes the name of her father-in-law and becomes known as Mona Simpson.

In the 1980s, Steve Jobs found his biological mother Joanne revealing that he has a biological sister, Mona Simpson.

They meet for the first time in 1985 and become close friends.
